Default Reasons NOT to leave a group

Hi

Okay so people leave, and its annoying on those that get left behind, however im sure many people have had those moments when somoene left, and then they went and achieved something special.

So post them here and lets see if we cant change the mind of anyone who likes leaving at the first sign of death.

Heres mine from last night:

Was playing in Heroes ascent with a couple of guildies, and took teh rest from randomers standing around (yes this was iway, unranked means that its almost useless trying to get anywhere with a team other than iway)

won the first two maps easy enough then got a jump to HoH, where we had a free ride to the altar in the middle, but the other side there was a fight going on, so the team holding decided to come nd try an dp us out. It ended up that they gave us a massive dp (i think most of the team were on 30-45%). IT was at this point that one of the warriors left. however we jsut waited, set eoe down at about 1 minute left, and then everyone (except me) charged in Because the team from the other side had come into the fight as well there were a lot of people on low health, and when our side charged in with their low health due to dp, everyone ied in one massive eoe bomb (everyone but me that is ^_^. So basically we won, and the guy left before it happened. I wanted to whisper him but he had set it to do not distrub

Did you ever think that maybe he has a life and sometimes has to go in the middle of a game?

8-man FoW team... just after finishing the Tower of Courage area, we lose our Monk primary healer (still had a Me/Mo). Running through the Great Battlefield we lose an Ele... so now we're left with 2 Tanks, Healer, SS, Battery, and Ele. Then we end up losing the other Ele and the Wammo Tank as we're heading up into the Temple of War to finish that quest and start the Shadow Beast/Abyssal quest. We think we're screwed, but we stick around as it is. With 4 people, we managed to do that quest... head back out to the beach, do the Seeds of Corruption quest, and then finish that (some people had to craft). Then... for the hell of it, and cuz we didn't know what else to do, we went up to the Wailing Lord's Forest... and got up to the Wailing Lord, but we panicked because we didn't wanna accidentally kill him with my AoE (I was the SS) so we turned and went after the Spirit Woods and Shepherds across the bridge. Unfortunately, me and the battery got wiped almost immediately by a few Chain Lightnings, and the Me/Mo got killed before she could get away. So the tank was left standing there hacking away at some shepherds before he died. All in all, it was quite a lot of fun... and now I have 3 more people on my list ^^

Well...the first time that I did Viallainy of Galrath it was on my monk. Most first timers or lower levels die a whole lot on that quest. It takes so long, and many people just aren't as experienced with the quest. So, we got to the part with all the Vereta Apprentices and people just drop like flies. The other monk and I are trying our damnedest to keep people alive, but things just weren't coordinated. People started leaving, and those that stayed decided that their DP was just too high. I was the only person left alive, and everyone else had left except for the other monk. I was about to leave too, when the other monk asked me if I wanted to try it. We were already so far I figured why not, we still had Little Thom for damage. We somehow managed to finish of the group in the way and get over to Galrath. It took a while to wand him to death, since we had no interupts, being 2 monks and a henchie. We did it though!!! It was really cool!!!

Iron mines of moladune we started with henchie monks and the rest some randomo's. there was a necro skill capping without telling us he was gonna, henchies got wiped in the beginning so it was just 5 of us left to get further. we lost our Wammo and mesmer in the mountain pass. with 3 we get to the t-split where a lot of summit are or the right where the mantles are, then we lost our ele just one second before i gave that mantle knight the final blow -.- after that it was just me and my ex gf (she played gw too lol) i was my melee ranger and she had a warrior monk armor build. we went forward through the griffons then she got killed by the damn shadows popping up took me ages to kill them since 2 of my 3 attack skills are conditional based but i made it to the cave. i activated trolls lured 3 popups and activated another trolls after the 3rd sig then i i dashed through the cave using escape saviing our team by reaching the cutscene. People were very happy bowing and stuff lol ( they called me a noob before we started because i was using a sword ) anyways they offered me 20k all together but i refused i was out there to help anyways, after that i tried to solo the mission i made it to markis in 2 hours then the jades killed me -.- but it was awesome.

I made a new friend because of people ditching!

Doing the Iron mines of Moladune with a full group and noticed their was some tension between a few of the members. The norm, you know, people bitching about not getting healed, calling each other noobs. I'd been trying to get a good group for 2 nights straight that would actually finish the mission so I didnt care if they didnt get along.

So we get mobbed by the dolyaks a little after the cutscene and people started quitting, one by one. Only person left was another W/R like me who had rez. She rez'd me and we spent the next hour CAREFULLY pulling mobs and ended up finishing the mission with just the 2 of us. Took us about 10 minutes straight to kill the Dolyak Boss in the area (because of its damn heal spell) but we succeeded. Now I know if I need a reliable group, I can always call on my new W/R buddy!

I get the feeling that when more people leave, the more easy it becomes to cooperate. I never quit, unless I'm the last one doing the quest, or the people are not having fun doing the mission.

Ditto. I never quit either.

Too many people are impatient.

What they don't realize is...

You can either spend an hour looking for a group or an hour slowly going through a mission.

Did you ever think, he should have thought ahead and not committed to join the team if he had something he needed to do soon?

SF farming or SF farming or whatever is one thing, but if I'm doing a mission or a quest I something else long I figure the odds are that somebody or other will drop out.

If there's anything in the game that really requires 8 people to pull off, I haven't heard of it yet.

It was unranked IWAY, people pop on to play that for one round and ditch. He saw HOH and knew he had ten minutes of waiting to go and decided he had better things to do.

Yes, you have the responsability to play and enjoy every game to the max. If you fail to do so, the game police will hunt you down and hang you out to dry

Hi

Ok just to let you know, this post isnt flaming the leavers. THe idea behind it is to showcase the achievements people have had despite leavers. Personally im not all that annoyed that this guy missed out ona HoH win because he left, but i bet he probably is ^_^

Ad to those argueing the pros and cons of leaving: Please stop, the idea of this thread was to show what people can achieve with massive amounts of leavers. The first few posters got that and posted tehir achievements which happened without a full team because of leavers

I have a story:
Well, I was about 1/4 through bloodstine fen with my ele, when for some reason people just start to leave! It came down to only me and the monk. We decided we were gonna finish the mission so we lured very carefully and it took ages! But we did it! The last boss took us about 20min tho. lol

Last PUG I was in that suffered a mass exodus mid-mission was in Hell's Precipice. We wound up finishing it with a N/Me (Bloodmancer, myself), a N/Mo (some healing, but mostly a Bloodmancer as well), and a W/Mo. It was just the three of us from the wraith/dome things on. If anything it illustrates how teamwork and communication means more than numbers in the PvE game. And that a full Monk, much less two of them, is a far cry from mandatory.

Well - I was getting really tired of doing Ring of Fire. Every time I would attempt this, people would quit early to mid-mission. The problem with this mission is there are a lot of caps, and a lot of people only get them and leave (even though they say they are doing mission).

So 5th time out two people quit - I was not surprised. Plus we took Lina to help out since there were no monks. We had Mesmer, 2 Warrs, a real healer and Ranger(me). We almost died a few times, (seals) but ended up beating the mission and bonus! Luckily I brought interrupts, and one Warrior did too. I was quite happy with that...
